Docker Desktop is a containerization platform for developers and teams, offering a user-friendly environment for managing containers. It bundles the Docker Engine, the Docker CLI, Docker Compose for multi-container applications, and Docker Build for creating container images, along with built-in Kubernetes support for orchestrating and testing containers locally. Additional tools include Volume Management and Synchronized File Shares for handling container data, and Docker Debug for troubleshooting slim containers.

The app also includes Hardened Docker Desktop, which adds enhanced container isolation and registry and image access management, along with VDI Support for running in virtual desktop environments. Docker Extensions and a Private Extensions Marketplace let teams customize the environment with third-party tools and integrations.

Docker Desktop is available for Mac (Apple Silicon and Intel chips), Windows, and Linux, and is positioned as a way to increase productivity and reduce time to deployment.
