About
Donut Browser is a Mac app that lets you run multiple isolated browser profiles on one device. Each profile gets its own fingerprint, cookies, and proxy or WireGuard VPN, with WebRTC leak protection and DNS routed through the profile's proxy. Timezone and language follow the proxy's exit IP, and a mismatch blocks the launch. Profiles can be password-locked and encrypted at rest, ephemeral profiles can live in RAM, and deleted profiles are overwritten.
The app is built on Chromium and blocks ads and trackers at the DNS level through blocklists. It also notifies you when a site probes your browser to build a fingerprint. Donut sends no app telemetry, requires no account, and stores profiles on your disk. Cookies, logins, and history stay on the device, and optional end-to-end encrypted sync is available, including a self-hostable sync server. The app is open source under AGPL-3.0.
Donut also supports running AI agents in isolated profiles, with each agent getting its own fingerprint, cookies, and proxy. The app has no AI model of its own and sends nothing to model providers; page content goes only to the agent you connect.
