DS4 Control is a macOS menu bar app that launches, supervises, and monitors a local ds4 server for DeepSeek V4 and V4.1 models via dwarfstar. You can choose between V4.1 Flash 1017, V4 Pro (0813), and V4 Flash (0731), with context configurable up to 1M. The app can start, stop, and monitor the ds4-server process, including readiness detection, health polling, and crash detection, and it shows mini widgets for unified memory, GPU, power, and CPU use. It also offers a Chat launcher and can launch Claude Code or Pi for local agentic coding, and it can be set to start at macOS login.
Before launching, DS4 Control checks whether each model variant fits your available RAM, since the larger DeepSeek V4 variants are memory-intensive. Models are downloaded from within the app with a built-in parallel downloader that shows progress and resumes after restarts, so you don't need to pre-download them. The app requires Apple Silicon.
DS4 Control does not include model search or registry browsing, and it does not perform inference itself; all inference is delegated to ds4-server.
