About
DwellClick is an assistive Mac app that lets you click and drag without physically pressing a mouse button. It is designed for people who cannot use a physical mouse button or who find clicking difficult, tiring, or painful, including people with paralysis, mobility issues, or repetitive strain injury (RSI). To click, you move the pointer to where you want to click and pause. Double click, secondary click, and drag can be performed from an on-screen control panel or with keyboard shortcuts, and the app offers Auto drag for windows, resizers, and sliders, and Quick drag, which drags with a flick of the pointer. DwellClick works with a typical mouse or trackpad and keyboard, or as part of a fully hands-free setup such as with a head tracker.
DwellClick is free and open source under the Apache License 2.0, with source code on GitHub, and is maintained by Nick Moore. It requires macOS 11.5 or above and runs on both Intel and Apple silicon processors. It can be installed by unzipping the download and moving DwellClick.app to your /Applications folder, or with Homebrew using brew install --cask dwellclick.
