About

Easydict is a concise and easy-to-use dictionary and translation app for macOS. It is ready to use out of the box, automatically recognizes the language of input text, and lets you look up words or translate text through input translation, mouse or shortcut-based selection translation, and OCR screenshot translation. It also offers a silent screenshot OCR option that copies recognized text directly to the clipboard.

Easydict can query multiple translation services at the same time, including Apple Dictionary, MDict, Apple Translate, OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, DeepSeek, Ollama, DeepL, Google, and Bing, among others, for a total of more than 20 dictionary, translation, AI, local-model, and CLI services. It supports 52 selectable translation languages and multiple text-to-speech voice services.

Easydict is free and open source under the GPL-3.0 license. It can be installed with Homebrew (`brew install --cask easydict`) or downloaded manually from the release page, and the latest version supports macOS 13.0 and later.
