About
EffectCraft is a free, open-source motion graphics and visual effects app for macOS, Windows, Linux, and the web, built in pure Rust. It offers compositions, layers, and keyframes with linear, bezier, hold, and eased keys, plus a graph editor for value and speed curves. Its layer types include solids, shapes, text, footage, nested compositions, nulls, adjustment layers, cameras, and lights, with parenting, track mattes, and 38 blend modes. The app ships with 259 effects, real 3D layers with depth of field and soft ray-traced shadows, and JavaScript expressions edited inline.
EffectCraft exports H.264 and ProRes with alpha, PNG, TIFF, and 32-bit EXR sequences, GIF, and Lottie for the web, with no FFmpeg bundled. It is still in development (version 0.17.0) and is available as a standalone download or through the ArtCraft Launcher, which installs and updates it alongside other Crafting Apps.
