About
Elmedia Player is a multiformat media player for Mac that opens many formats QuickTime cannot handle, including MKV, FLV, WMV, AVI, Blu-ray, and FLAC. It works on the newest macOS releases, including Sequoia, and is available for both Apple silicon and Intel Macs. Playlists can be looped, shuffled, or exported to M3U files for use in other players.
The app offers a range of playback and display controls, such as adjusting sound and video, changing playback speed, and tuning brightness, contrast, gamma, and saturation. Subtitles can be added in SRT, SSA, or SMIL formats, and their position, color, font, and size can be customized, with OpenSubtitles integration for automatic search and saving. Other options include taking snapshots at set intervals, deinterlacing to remove lines from DVD or camera footage, and Touch Bar controls.
Elmedia Player can also stream to Apple TV, AirPlay devices, Smart TVs, Roku, DLNA devices, Chromecast, and Android TV, with live transcoding for files a target device does not support.
