About
Emdash is an open-source agentic development environment, available for macOS, Windows, and Linux. It lets you run multiple coding agents at once, each in its own isolated Git worktree with its own branch, terminal, conversation, and review state. Issues can be passed directly to agents from tools like Linear, Jira, GitHub, Notion, and Asana, and agent runs can be scheduled to repeat work such as bug sweeps. Emdash supports 25+ coding agents, including Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor, so you can use any agent without lock-in.
The app also covers the surrounding workflow: an in-app browser for previewing local or remote apps, a built-in file editor, and tools to review diffs, commit, push, open pull requests, and monitor CI. Workspaces can be provisioned locally, on a remote machine over SSH, or on cloud infrastructure. A library lets you save prompts, install skills, and sync MCP servers to supported agents.
According to the website, Emdash is free and backed by Y Combinator, and it has over 1 million downloads. The site also states that Emdash 2.0 is available through a waitlist for early access.
