Energiza Pro is a Mac app that lets you control how your MacBook's battery is charged. You can set individual charging limits so charging only starts when the battery drops below a lower threshold and stops at an upper limit, preventing the battery from being held at high states of charge when plugged in for long periods. You can also charge or, on Apple M1 chip or later, discharge the battery on demand with a single click, and monitor battery details such as charge level, health, remaining cycles, temperature, and time remaining, along with wattage to spot energy-hungry apps.

The app is highly configurable: you can customize its menu bar appearance, choose which charging events trigger notifications, and set an upper limit for automatic discharge. Energiza Pro also stops charging when the Mac goes to sleep, since it cannot guarantee the limits are met while asleep, and by default prevents automatic sleep while charging when needed. A heat protection feature monitors battery temperature and stops charging when it gets too high.

Energiza Pro requires macOS 10.13 or later and supports MacBooks later than 2010, though the discharging feature is limited to Apple Silicon models. It is offered as a monthly, yearly, or one-time purchase, each with a 30-day trial and different device allowances.
