About
Equinox is a free and open-source Mac app for creating dynamic wallpapers, the kind macOS supports through "Dynamic Desktop" and "Light and Dark Desktop" types starting with Mojave. The app lets you build these wallpapers in a few clicks. You can choose from three wallpaper types: Solar, where the desktop picture changes throughout the day based on the sun's position in the sky; Time, where it changes based on times you choose; and Appearance, which uses two images, one for light mode and one for dark mode.
Equinox includes a Calculator for solar calculations, where you can select a location by drag and drop. You can create unique wallpapers as often as you like, and they are created locally. Once a wallpaper is created, you can set it as your desktop right away.
Equinox is available on GitHub and through the Mac App Store, and the developer accepts support via PayPal.
