Espresso

About

Espresso is a web editor for Mac built for people who make websites. It covers writing, coding, designing, building and publishing in one app, with text editing features such as CodeSense, folding, bracket balancing, multiple selections, Zen Snippets, Re-Indent, templates, and a Navigator for moving through code structure. Live Preview works with Chrome, Firefox and Safari (including Technology Preview). Xray lets you inspect page layout and edit the relevant styles, and Live Styling and Overrides let you change CSS on live sites and see updates immediately without publishing, reloading or saving. CSSEdit visual tools for colors, gradients, shadows and layouts are included for both standard CSS and dynamic CSS.

Espresso also includes Dynamo, its built-in build system, which supports SCSS, LESS, Markdown and HTML with imports, template mixins and auto-building. Dynamo is noted as an in-app beta, with some features such as folder template mixins still being evaluated. For publishing, Server Sync keeps projects in sync with their server, Quick Publish uploads on save, and Quick Browse and the Clodette overview menu help manage server connections. Espresso also supports a plug-in API for extending actions, syntaxes and formatting.
