About
ExcalidrawZ is a local-first Excalidraw client for Mac, iPad, and iPhone that uses the familiar Excalidraw canvas inside a native Apple app. Drawings stay on your device by default, and you can organize them with local file management, browse recent work, and use history, search, and import/export. Storage is iCloud-aware, and you can optionally connect Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, WebDAV, or a local folder to browse, edit, and synchronize Excalidraw files and nested folders.
Beyond the core canvas, ExcalidrawZ includes a tabbed inspector for canvas search, library browsing, and canvas preferences, plus PDF import and export of images, files, and vector PDFs through the system share sheet. Sensitive drawings can be locked: their saved content and checkpoints are encrypted on disk and unlocked with Touch ID, your Mac password, or a Recovery Key.
AI, MCP, and math tools are optional extras. AI Chat can inspect the current canvas, draft changes, generate diagrams, and work with attached images, with proposal previews to review changes before applying them. Per-file AI visibility controls keep locked drawings out of AI requests. You can also connect MCP clients or create LaTeX formulas and function plots without leaving the app.
