About
Fabric Belt Splice, from Maven Software Inc., lays out a vulcanised splice for a fabric-ply conveyor belt and produces a dimensioned drawing sheet and step-by-step splice instructions. It covers step and finger splices for plied belts rated in PIW or by EP class, and for straight-warp belts. The sheet includes a plan of the splice as marked out on the belt and a section on the centre line, showing the bias, the press and the materials. You can enter your own dimensions in place of a table's, and these are marked as entered by hand. Output can be exported as PDF, SVG, DXF or PNG, in inches and PIW or millimetres and N/mm, and the sheet, instructions and window are available in 39 language and region choices. The app is available on the App Store for iPhone, iPad and Mac. The download is free and shows the full worked example, including the stress analysis and cure. A subscription at US$5.00/month, with 7 days free for eligible new subscribers, unlocks your own belt, dimensions, rule and press changes, and exports of the sheet, instructions, film and model. The website states that the app is a planning aid, not a splice procedure, and that users should follow the belt maker's and kit supplier's instructions and verify all figures before cutting.
