About
Farrago is a soundboard for the Mac that lets you instantly play sound bites, audio effects, and music clips with your keyboard or mouse. You can trigger audio on demand or play clips in sequence from predefined lists. Sounds are laid out in grids or lists, and you can use multiple sets to organize large audio libraries. Sets can be lockable with a password, or made as Smart Sets that update dynamically based on rules you configure. A search field helps you find sounds quickly, and integrated Freesound search lets you preview and download new sounds. Apple Loops are also available in search results for GarageBand and Logic Pro users.
Each tile can be customized in the Inspector, where you can set its name, color, and emoji. Farrago includes a built-in audio editor for trimming audio and applying fades, and playback controls let you loop audio and adjust relative volumes. You can test audio on a secondary device with the Preview output device before playing it live. Beyond keyboard and mouse, you can control playback with MIDI, OSC, or Stream Deck hardware, and Farrago offers integrations with the Shortcuts app.
The site describes Farrago for podcasting and radio, theatre and live shows, and voice and video chats. List mode is designed to order clips, add notes, and play them in sequence to accompany performances. The free download serves as both the trial and the full version, though trial mode has limitations. You can unlock the full version by purchasing and entering a license key.
