About
FilmCraft is a free, open-source video editor for macOS, Windows and Linux, written in pure Rust. It includes source and program monitors, three-point editing, every trim mode, and J/K/L dynamic trimming. An integer timebase keeps 23.976 and 29.97 drop-frame exact, and the editor uses its own native codecs, including H.264, HEVC, ProRes, VP9, AAC and Opus, with no FFmpeg inside.
For finishing, FilmCraft offers curves, color wheels, HSL secondaries, LUTs, HDR and log workflows, and scopes to check your work. It also provides about 55 video effects and 30 transitions, keyframes with value and velocity graphs, and a linear-light GPU compositor. For audio, it includes EBU R128 loudness meters, a mixer with automation, and native DSP effects.
The macOS version is a universal disk image that works on Apple silicon and Intel Macs. It can be installed standalone or through the ArtCraft Launcher, which keeps FilmCraft updated.
