Fission

About

Fission is a Mac app for editing audio quickly without quality loss. You can join files, crop and trim audio, split long files, fade audio in and out, normalize volume, and edit metadata. Fission can also split files based on silence, using Smart Split, or by cue sheets, and it can export your edits to a cue sheet file. It never causes quality loss when editing, including with MP3 and AAC files.

Fission can also convert files between formats. Its batch converter handles dozens of files at once, and any file it can open can be saved directly to MP3, AAC, Apple Lossless, FLAC, AIFF, or WAV. It can also create chapterized AAC and MP3 files for enhanced podcasts, and save edited clips as iPhone ringtones.

Fission is available as a free download that works as both a trial and the full version. While in trial mode, some limitations apply. To unlock the full version, purchase a license key from the Rogue Amoeba store and enter it in the app.
