Folder Preview Pro

About

Folder Preview Pro brings Quick Look to your Mac's folders. Press the Space bar to see what's inside a folder, with thumbnails for all file types Finder supports, and preview the contents of archive files such as ZIP, RAR, 7z, TAR, GZ, and BZ2. You can double-click to open a file, right-click to copy, and drag files from the Quick Look window into other apps. The app works in Finder and in third-party apps such as ForkLift, Bloom, Path Finder, Commander One, and QSpace. It requires macOS 12.0 or later.

Folder Preview Pro is sold as a one-time purchase for $9.99 USD and is not available on the Mac App Store; it is downloaded from the developer's website. The license covers up to 5 Macs and includes priority email support and lifetime free updates, including major new versions. A lower-priced version, Folder Preview ($1.99), offers folder and archive previews with thumbnails and copy options, while Folder Preview Pro adds double-click opening, drag and drop, a toolbar, and a dual-column view.

Because Folder Preview Pro is not sandboxed, it can offer features beyond the lower-priced version. The website notes that you only need to upgrade if you want these additional features.
