About
Folders File Manager is a macOS file manager built around a persistent folder tree. Instead of Finder's sidebar, it gives you one tree that includes drives, network shares, cloud services, tags, recents, and favorites, so you can see the bigger picture. It is designed for people who recently moved from a PC and for longtime Mac users who missed a tree view, and it keeps familiar habits such as ⌘X to cut and Return to open.
The app offers four file views (Table, List, Icons, and Gallery), a separate Info panel with previews, EXIF and other metadata, batch rename, file conflict resolution, comprehensive undo, and archive support for zip, 7z, rar (read-only), tar, and several other formats. It can also mount and connect to network shares, FTP, SFTP, and S3-compatible servers. Customization options include color themes, folder icon colors, a customizable toolbar and context menu, and iCloud settings sync between Macs.
Folders is offered as a one-time purchase with lifetime updates and no subscription, licensed for up to 5 Macs and available in 30+ languages. It is a native Swift app, universal for Intel and Apple silicon, and includes a fully functional 14-day free trial.
