About
Free Ruler is a ruler application for macOS that provides horizontal and vertical rulers. You can measure in pixels, millimeters, or inches, switching units by pressing U. Rulers can float above other applications, and you can move windows independently or as a group. Rulers can be shown, hidden, and reopened from the menu or keyboard, resized by dragging the end of each ruler, and aligned at the mouse location. The app is available in multiple languages.
Free Ruler requires macOS Sonoma or later and can be downloaded from GitHub. Direct downloads from GitHub are signed, notarized, and can check for updates automatically; older builds are available on the releases page. The project is open source, and bug reports or feature requests can be submitted through the issues list. Donations are also accepted.
