Funter is a free Mac app for showing hidden files, switching their visibility in Finder, and hiding files. It can be accessed from the menu bar, and hidden files stay visible even after Finder relaunches. Funter also adds a Hide/Unhide option to the Finder right-click menu, so you can hide any file or folder without leaving Finder.

Funter can find files that Spotlight never finds. You can search any disk or folder, show all, hidden, or unhidden files in the results, and search inside bundles and packages. Found files can be revealed in Finder, previewed with the built-in previewer, or copied, moved, or deleted.

Funter also includes a disk usage view that shows removable junk files, duplicates, unused apps, and large and old files, with a Manage my Mac option for optimizing your system. The app is available in English, Spanish, German, French, Chinese, Italian, and Ukrainian, and requires macOS 11.0 or later. Funter is not a replacement for Spotlight search technology.
