About
Fuse for macOS is a port of the UNIX ZX Spectrum emulator Fuse to macOS. The project aims to integrate the emulator into the macOS platform and, over time, take advantage of as many macOS features as make sense.
Fuse for macOS supports several models, including the 128, Timex, and Russian clone machines. It offers a fairly faithful emulation of the display and sound, and it supports many snapshot formats, including Z80, SNA, and SZX. It also supports TAP, TZX, and PZX virtual-tape files and the Recreated ZX Spectrum Bluetooth keyboard.
On macOS, the emulator uses a Metal renderer in place of the legacy OpenGL renderer. Quick Look and Spotlight can index and preview several file types, including SCREEN$ files in Microdrive cartridges, tape images, and disk images. The app also includes automatic application updating.
