GeekTool is a macOS application that lets you customize your desktop with great flexibility. It offers four modules for displaying different types of information on your desktop.
The Logs module is designed for log files, so you can keep an eye on what is going on right from your desktop. The Script module lets you display the output of a script in the way you want: GeekTool executes the script and shows its output on your desktop. The Image module can display items such as a remote webcam, a network graph stored on a monitoring server, or a folder of pictures, and it can refresh automatically and rotate through pictures.
The Web module works like the Script module, but instead of only text, it can display a full web page or generate your own HTML code using your own script.
