About
Gitfox is a native Git client for Mac, written in Swift and drawn with AppKit rather than Electron. It lets you review diffs, stage changes, manage branches, and resolve conflicts in a macOS app. It runs on macOS 15.0 or later as a universal app for Apple Silicon and Intel, and a free 30-day trial is available.
Gitfox offers diff tools that compare any two commits, branches, or tags, with inline change highlights, blame annotations on every line, and image diffs. You can stage individual lines or whole hunks, perform interactive rebases, and resolve conflicts one hunk at a time. Commits can be signed with SSH or GPG keys, and commit messages can be generated from staged changes with Claude or Codex. Issues from GitHub, GitLab, Gitea, and Jira Cloud can be referenced from the commit editor.
Gitfox is designed to sit alongside your existing Git setup, using the same repositories, config, credentials, and hooks. Repositories stay on your Mac, and the app connects only for license checks, updates, crash reports, and anonymous usage statistics. Built-in account support covers GitHub, GitLab, GitLab Self-Managed, Bitbucket, and Gitea, and SSH remotes work as they do with the command line. A Pro license covers one person, and Team plans cover the people in an organization.
