Gõ Nhanh is a free Vietnamese input method (bộ gõ tiếng Việt) for macOS, described as fast and stable, with no ads and no data collection. It is installable via Homebrew (brew install --cask gonhanh) or by manual download of a DMG file, and the app checks for new versions every 24 hours. It supports Telex and VNI typing methods, standard tone-mark placement, automatic capitalization at sentence starts, and text abbreviations (e.g., "vn" → "Việt Nam"). Its key feature is auto-restore of English words typed with Telex, which restores the original text when Space is pressed, and ESC can also restore it manually. It can remember on/off state per app, switches automatically based on input source, and is reported to have under 10ms latency and about 20MB of RAM usage. The project is open source under the BSD-3-Clause license, with Linux and Windows versions listed as beta.
