About
Google Japanese Input Method Editor is a free Japanese input tool for macOS (and Windows). It learns the phrases you use often, so after you type the first few characters, it can auto-complete them. When you're typing in front of others, you can switch to secret mode to turn off this learning.
Its dictionary is built from a large range of terms used across the web, including rare names and places, specialized technical vocabulary, popular emoticons, and shop names. The dictionary is updated automatically on a regular basis, so you always have access to current vocabulary.
The app is designed with speed, stability, and security in mind, aiming to provide a comfortable and safe input experience. Google states that text typed through Google Japanese Input is not sent to Google.
