About
GPG Suite Nightly brings OpenPGP encryption to macOS. Its GPG Mail extension integrates GPG directly into Apple's Mail app, adding lock and sign buttons when you write a message, and automatically decrypting and verifying messages you receive. GPG Keychain lets you create and manage your keys, upload them to a key server, and import your contacts' keys. GPG Services adds encryption, decryption, signing, and verification to most applications through the macOS Services menu, and MacGPG provides the underlying engine, based on the latest GnuPG, for users who want command-line access.
The website describes GPG Mail 8 as currently in beta, with some features still missing while the developers work with Apple on them, and no release timeline yet. Beta use requires an active GPG Mail 7 Support Plan. The site also notes a yearly GPG Mail Support Plan starting with version 8, with older plans credited toward it, and a 30-day free trial for users who have not previously started one.
To install, download GPG Suite and verify it against the published SHA-256 checksum, then enable the GPG Mail extension under Mail's Settings › Extensions and activate your support plan in GPG Keychain's settings. The site also explains how errors are reported, with banners and a "Show Details" option that describes problems and possible solutions.
