About
Hermes Desktop is the native Mac app for Hermes Agent, an open-source autonomous agent by Nous Research. The agent learns across sessions, writes its own skills from experience, and keeps improving them in use. The app runs on macOS 12 or later and provides the same agent with a graphical interface, so you can chat, manage sessions, and browse and preview files without using the terminal.
Hermes Desktop is free and open source under an MIT license. No account is needed to run the base app. Signing in to Nous Portal adds always-on cloud agents, free and discounted models, and bundled tool usage credits.
You can extend the app with plugins that add tools, hooks, themes, and integrations, without modifying its core.
