Hyperkey

About

Hyperkey is a free Mac app that converts caps lock or any other modifier key into the hyper key, which combines all four modifiers (⌃⌥⌘⇧). The hyper key works as an additional modifier in any app that uses keyboard shortcuts. You can also simply remap caps lock to a more useful key.

Hyperkey is a lightweight companion for Rectangle and many other apps. It works with Keyboard Maestro: if you record a shortcut by physically pressing the modifiers, the hyper key configured in Hyperkey will trigger the matching Keyboard Maestro action.

Key remappings do not work in password fields, because macOS secures these fields and prevents third-party apps from detecting keystrokes. Hyperkey is also available as part of Superkey, a paid upgrade that includes everything in Hyperkey plus the ability to click text anywhere using your keyboard.
