About
Icon Composer is a Mac app for creating layered icons out of Liquid Glass from a single design for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch. It uses a multi-layer icon format that lets you craft your icon and annotate it across appearance modes. Icon Composer works with Xcode, and you can export a flattened version of your icon for marketing and communication needs.
You can import and organize your artwork layers, then adjust properties including specular highlights, refraction, translucency, and shadows. Refraction lets each layer pick up and transmit color and shape from what's behind it, with strength set per layer. Specular highlights can be aligned inside or outside each layer, or set automatically based on layer color. Existing Icon Composer files render with the new material automatically, and you can fine-tune them from there.
Icon Composer lets you choose how your icon appears in Default, Dark, and Mono modes within a single file. Once your annotations are complete, you can add the icon directly to Xcode and sync changes into your project. The app requires macOS Tahoe 26.4 or later.
