About
Impactor is an open-source, cross-platform sideloading application for iOS, iPadOS, and tvOS, supporting macOS, Linux, and Windows. Formerly known as PlumeImpactor, it offers a user-friendly, clean interface and can sign and sideload apps on iOS 9.0+ and Mac using your Apple ID. It supports installing SideStore and LiveContainer, installing with AppSync, and installing IPAs obtained through ipatool. It also automatically disables App Store updates and offers simple customization options.
For advanced users, Impactor provides tweak support using ElleKit for injection, including .deb and .dylib files and .framework, .bundle, and .appex directories. It can generate a P12 certificate for SideStore/AltStore and LiveContainer, automatically populate pairing files for apps such as SideStore, Antrag, and Protokolle, and includes device utilities for retrusting or placing pairing files. Impactor works by replicating what Xcode does: it registers your device, creates certificates and provisioning profiles through your Apple Account, signs the app with apple-codesign-rs, and installs it. Without a paid Apple Developer Program membership, apps are limited to 7-day signatures and a restricted number of registered apps and components. Impactor is available on GitHub, Flathub, and Homebrew, and is MIT-licensed.
