About
The Integrative Genomics Viewer (IGV) is a high-performance, easy-to-use, interactive tool for the visual exploration of genomic data. It supports flexible integration of all the common types of genomic data and metadata, whether investigator-generated or publicly available, loaded from local or cloud sources.
IGV is available in several forms: the original IGV, a Java desktop application; IGV-Web, a web application; and igv.js, a JavaScript component for developers to embed in web pages. The IGV website focuses on the desktop application. IGV is completely open for anyone to use under an MIT open-source license, and its desktop source code is hosted on GitHub.
Development of IGV has been supported by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) of the National Institutes of Health, the NCI's Informatics Technology for Cancer Research (ITCR) program, and the Starr Cancer Consortium. Users who publish work using IGV are asked to cite one or more of the associated papers.
