About
IP in menubar is a small application that runs in the background and displays your Mac's current IP address in the menu bar. The IP address is updated regularly, and you can customize the appearance of the menu entry. If you are behind a router or gateway, switch on the Router option. You can still see your local IP address in the menu.
The app can also show a country flag, notify you when your IP changes (with the notifications kept in Notification Center), show your VPN IP, and show all of your Mac's IPs. To install it, drop the application wherever you like. You can add it to your login items so it launches at login. You can quit it from its menu or from Activity Monitor. It requires macOS 10.13 to 14.x (64-bit).
IP in menubar is freeware and is provided as is. The developer describes it as an example of what you can build in Xojo using the MBS Plugins and their NSStatusItemMBS class. The website points to iStat Menus from bjango for users who need more detail in the menu bar, such as country information.
