About

ishare is a screen capture utility for macOS, designed with simplicity and efficiency in mind. It captures regions with a pixel magnifier, coordinates, colors, and a measuring tool, as well as windows, whole displays, your last region, and scrolling pages, all through ScreenCaptureKit. You can also record displays, windows, or a drawn region as video or GIF, with options such as a webcam bubble, click and keystroke overlays, system audio, trimming, and on-device captions. An annotation toolkit includes arrows, shapes, text, numbered steps, blur, pixelate, smart eraser, cropping, and a layers sidebar.

For sharing, ishare can upload to Imgur, custom HTTP uploaders, S3-compatible storage, and local destinations such as a folder, iCloud Drive, or a Photos album. Uploads can go to several destinations, retry when they fail, and be shortened, rewritten to a CDN host, or deleted from the server after a set number of days. Automation options include global keyboard shortcuts, Shortcuts actions, a command-line tool with JSON output, ishare:// URL actions, a Raycast extension, and a share menu extension. Temporary links can also be shared with devices on the same Wi-Fi network, and QR codes are available for every link.

ishare 5.3 and later require a Mac with Apple silicon running macOS 15 or later; Intel Macs remain on version 5.2.1. It can be installed with `brew install --cask ishare`, downloaded as a DMG, or obtained from the Mac App Store. The project is licensed under GPL-3.0.
