About
IVPN for macOS is a VPN client for Mac computers running macOS 12 or later, available in builds for both Intel and Apple Silicon processors. It supports WireGuard (including quantum-resistant connections) and OpenVPN protocols, and can be used through either a graphical interface or a command-line interface. Privacy and connection controls include automatic WireGuard key and IP address rotation, a firewall/killswitch that can be set to on-demand or always-on and protects against DNS, IPv6 and disconnection leaks, and multi-hop routes that pass traffic through servers in separate jurisdictions.
The app also includes AntiTracker, which blocks ads, adware, malicious websites and data-harvesting trackers, along with custom DNS servers supporting DoH. Users can define trusted Wi-Fi networks with rules for automatic connection and disconnection, enable auto-connect on launch or when joining insecure Wi-Fi, allow LAN traffic while connected, pause the VPN temporarily, and use split tunneling to exclude specific apps. V2Ray and obfs4 options are offered to help circumvent censorship. The app updates automatically, and manual setup guides are available for WireGuard, Tunnelblick (OpenVPN), and IPSec with IKEv2 for users who prefer not to use the app. The website also notes that VPN connection and stable operation in Russia are not guaranteed due to current restrictions, and recommends testing the service with the one-week plan first.
