It works as one place to run agents and verify their work, and you can configure how each agent launches (in the GUI or the terminal) and whether your code or the agent session stays front and center. You can work with multiple agents at once, in one project or several, and track which sessions are running, done, or waiting on you. Debugging, testing, and databases are one click away, and you can comment on a line in the diff and send it back to the agent.
PhpStorm's code intelligence resolves usages, dependencies, and types across the codebase, and its built-in MCP server gives agents that same precision through MCP tools and bundled skills. You can connect the agents you use and run them on your own API key, an existing subscription, or JetBrains AI. Support for Laravel, Symfony, the latest PHP versions, databases, Docker, Xdebug, PHPUnit, and Pest is built in and preconfigured, along with JavaScript, TypeScript, Vue, and Tailwind CSS on the frontend.
