About
JetBrains Rider is an IDE for .NET and game development that works for both developers and AI agents. You can prompt an agent or write the code yourself, and Rider helps make sure the result holds up either way. It is free for non-commercial use and runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux, so you can use the same IDE across platforms.
Rider resolves your entire codebase, including types, usages, dependencies, and framework conventions, to give agents precise context. Agents can use Rider's refactorings, inspections, debugger, and profiler to make changes and diagnose potential issues. Debugging, testing, profiling, and databases are one click away for reviewing and verifying changes before you merge them. Rider supports ASP.NET Core, Angular, EF Core, Blazor, Azure, and other web and cloud technologies, as well as Unity, Unreal Engine, Godot, and custom engines. You can connect the agents you use and run them on your own API key, your existing subscription, or JetBrains AI.
With Air, Rider's environment for running agents and verifying their work, you can work with multiple agents at once in one project or across several. You can track which sessions are running, done, or waiting on you, and comment on a line in the diff to send it back to the agent.
