JollysFastVNC is a secure ARD and VNC client for macOS, focused on fast and reliable remote control. It offers built-in SSH tunneling, SSL, and SOCKS support, and for encrypted sessions you can select the SSH security type, which creates the tunnel automatically. It also supports Mac and Windows login (including Windows domain login), keyboard, pasteboard, remote screen lock, and monitor selection, along with multiple connections, full-screen mode, multi-monitor support, and SmartZoom for viewing large remote desktops.
To connect, enable Screen Sharing on remote Macs, run a VNC server such as UltraVNC on Windows, or use the built-in VNC servers on Linux. Other capabilities include reverse connections with automated NAT-PMP and UPnP port opening on routers, Wake-on-LAN, Bonjour discovery with auto-connect to Bonjour hosts, automatic pasteboard synchronization, and vnc:// and jfvnc:// URL schemes for opening connections from other apps. Preferences are hierarchical, with global and per-host settings.
The normal version runs on macOS 11 through 15. TaoofMac described JollysFastVNC as one of the best options on the platform.
