About
JOSM is an extensible editor for OpenStreetMap (OSM), written in Java 11+. It can load GPX tracks, background imagery, and OSM data from local and online sources. You can edit OSM data, including nodes, ways, and relations, along with their metadata tags.
JOSM is open source and licensed under the GPL. A macOS app is available, and it can also be installed with Homebrew. Extensions include plugins for more complex program features, presets for selecting predefined tags, rules for checking and fixing invalid data, styles for changing the map view's appearance, and backgrounds for tracing OSM data such as aerial imagery.
New users can follow the Introduction page to make their first successful edit. Pressing F1 in the interface opens the official help system, and the Report Bug form in the Help menu lets you report issues.
