About
Jot is a small Mac app that lives in your menu bar. Press ⌥Space from any app, type what's on your mind, and press ⌘↵ to save it to a searchable local log. There's no window to find, no document to name, and no sync to wait on.
Everything is stored in plain JSON on your Mac. Jot needs no account, uses no servers, and sends no telemetry. It requires no Accessibility, microphone, or screen-recording permissions. You can search your captures instantly, click any result to copy it, and export your whole log to Markdown whenever you want.
Jot is a one-time $4.99 purchase with no subscription, covering up to three of your Macs and free updates for every future version. It runs on macOS 14 or later, on both Apple Silicon and Intel, and is also available on the Mac App Store for the same price.
