About
Julia is a programming language designed for high performance. Programs compile automatically to efficient native code via LLVM and run across multiple platforms. It is dynamically typed and feels like a scripting language with good support for interactive use, but it can also optionally be compiled separately. Its composability rests on multiple dispatch, which makes many object-oriented and functional programming patterns easy to express. Julia also provides asynchronous I/O, metaprogramming, debugging, logging, profiling, a package manager, and the ability to build binaries, along with built-in primitives for multi-threaded, GPU, and distributed parallel computing. Julia is open source under the MIT license, with over 1,000 contributors and source code available on GitHub.
