About
Keet is a peer-to-peer chat app built for privacy. Messages, calls, and file transfers are end-to-end encrypted and sent directly between participants, with no servers or third parties involved. Keet does not require a phone number or email, does not store personal information tied to your account, and does not collect metadata. Your identity is secured with a 24-word seed phrase, which also lets you access your chats and contacts across devices after syncing with a QR code or secure sync link.
Keet also supports audio and video calls powered by peer-to-peer connectivity, including calls optimized for large groups. Files can be sent and received directly between devices with no size limits. Keet offers Rooms for connecting with like-minded people, and creators can use Broadcast Rooms with a read-only option that lets audiences respond only through reactions.
Keet works on desktop and mobile, and it is free to use, with no subscriptions, premium features, or ads. It is developed by Holepunch, backed by Tether, and built on the open-source Pear Runtime.
