About
Kero is a terminal for coding agents. Its sidebar shows which sessions are working, which need you, and which are done, and a shortcut (⌘J) jumps to the session that needs you. Kero also notifies you when an agent finishes, and the Dock badge counts how many agents are waiting. Sessions run in kerod, a daemon of their own, so they keep going when you quit. Reopen Kero and everything is where you left it, with scrollback preserved. Sessions also start again after a reboot and are grouped by project in the sidebar.
Kero includes a CLI that agents can use to drive it. You can start sessions, split panes, send input, wait for sessions, and read their screens from your shell or from an agent. Agents can start dev servers, hand work to other agents, and wait for tests. One command installs the agent skill, and Kero works with Claude Code, Codex, and others. Terminals are rendered with libghostty, so Ghostty themes and configuration keys work as expected, with plain-text config that reloads live.
You can also run sessions on remote machines, such as a Linux box, a cloud VM, a Windows PC, or a Mac mini, and reach them over SSH, Tailscale, or WSL. Remote hosts appear in your sidebar tagged with the host, and their sessions keep running when your laptop sleeps. A single script installs the server build without root access.
