About
Keyboard Maestro is Mac automation software that lets you automate applications or web sites, text or images, whether simple or complex. Tasks can run on command or on a schedule. The site describes it as a way to make your Mac behave the way you want, such as launching applications with windows arranged your way, quitting other applications when one launches, or setting up your Mac at 8:00 each morning.
The app includes hundreds of built-in actions, which can be combined with flow control, conditions, and looping actions. Examples include typing your email address, controlling applications, manipulating text and images, filling in web forms, and downloading reports or bank statements. Version 11 adds dozens of actions, a new Macro Wizard, a Prompt for Snippet action, and a Security Settings pane that shows the status of the system security permissions Keyboard Maestro uses.
Keyboard Maestro 11 is a one-time purchase for US$36 (plus applicable tax), with no subscription. Upgrades from previous versions cost US$25, and purchases since 1 March, 2023 receive a free upgrade to version 11. It requires macOS 10.13 High Sierra or later. A free trial is available, and an active forum is available for help getting started.
