About
KeyScreen is a Mac app that displays keystrokes beautifully on screen, so viewers never miss a keystroke whether you're creating tutorials, demonstrating software, or presenting live. You can display all keys or any combination of modifiers, function keys (F1-F12), and special keys like Enter, Esc, Tab, and Delete. Global keyboard shortcuts are also supported.
The overlay is fully customizable. You can choose fonts, colors, sizes, positions, animations, and more, and pick one of five default themes or create your own. You can place the overlay on any screen, and adjustable opacity, fonts, and sizes are designed for clarity in recordings and streams.
KeyScreen works entirely on your Mac, and no data is sent online. When you type in a password field, KeyScreen does not receive those key events, so sensitive input never appears. It runs on macOS 15 and later (macOS Sequoia and above). You can download it directly from the website, from the Mac App Store, or install it via Homebrew.
