About
Kiro CLI brings AI-assisted development to your terminal. You can build, test, and deploy applications using natural language commands and automated workflows. It installs on macOS, Linux, or Windows with a single curl command, and you start it by running kiro-cli inside a project directory.
Kiro CLI offers interactive chat for conversational help in the terminal, a terminal UI with syntax highlighting, panels, and themes, and headless mode for running prompts non-interactively in CI/CD pipelines using API keys. It also includes voice mode for dictating prompts hands-free with local Whisper speech-to-text, ACP for programmatic agent interactions, intelligent auto completion, and language-aware code intelligence.
Kiro CLI shares core capabilities with other Kiro surfaces, including steering for project-specific context, hooks to automate actions before and after commands, MCP for connecting external tools and data sources, custom agents, skills, sub-agents that run in parallel, model configuration, and capability-based permissions. Typical uses include interactive development, headless automation, custom workflow automation, team standardization, external integrations, and workflow optimization.
