About
Komet is a commit editor for macOS that helps you write high quality commit messages with ease. Its features include a single action for applying or discarding a commit, automatic double newline insertion after the first line, and Cocoa's spell checking and automatic correction support. It also highlights text when a line becomes too long and places the caret in an ideal position on launch after the initial content. The website notes that there is more beyond these features.
The current version, 1.5.1, requires macOS 12.4 or later and was released on Feb. 21, 2026. Older versions are listed on the site, starting with 0.9.1 for macOS 10.10 and later.
Komet is an open project that depends on contributors. Its source is available on GitHub.
