KStars

About

KStars is a free, feature-rich astronomy program for students, educators, amateur astronomers, and astronomy enthusiasts. Its graphical sky simulation shows planets, up to 100 million stars, 10,000 deep-sky objects, comets, and asteroids, and the simulation rate can be adjusted. It also provides access to several internet resources for information, imagery, and data.

KStars includes a complete astrophotography workflow. Its tools can predict conjunctions, plot the time variation of planetary positions, and perform various calculations.

For planning, KStars offers a powerful observation planner to help you organize your observations.
