About
Lapce is an open source code editor written in Rust. It uses a native GUI with GPU acceleration in Floem, so it launches quickly and responds to keystrokes with minimal delay. It is available as a Universal .dmg download for Mac.
Lapce includes features that are built in, such as syntax highlighting with Tree-sitter, LSP support for code completion, diagnostics, and code actions, and a Vim-like modal editing mode that doesn't require a plugin. It also has a built-in terminal that opens at your workspace path. Its WASI plugin system lets you write plugins in any language that compiles to WASI.
Lapce supports remote development. You can connect to a remote machine and work with a local-like experience, either using an environment identical to your production server or using the full performance of the remote machine. Lapdev is mentioned on the site as a way to help manage remote dev environments.
