About
LaunchControl is a Mac app by soma-zone for creating, managing, and debugging launchd(8) services. It shows all services and their status at a glance, highlights invalid services with a problem description, and lets you enable or disable services, load or unload them, and start them ad hoc with a single click. Long job lists can be filtered by job name and various properties. Its Standard Editor covers every key supported by launchd, and its Expert Editor exposes undocumented features. The XML View shows how your changes affect the job definition in real time. A palette annotates each of the 36+ documented keys, which you can search and drag into your configuration.
When a job does not behave as expected, LaunchControl performs an exhaustive analysis of the job and aims to identify the problem and explain how to fix it. It provides most of the functionality of the launchctl command line utility, along with a built-in log viewer, so you do not need to open Console.app and build custom queries. Separate views for logs and job state complement the editors.
LaunchControl also includes QuickLaunch, a menu bar extra with a user-configurable list of jobs and their status, where jobs can be grouped and controlled together with one click. Its AI integration lets you analyze and modify jobs using natural language, with changes written only when you choose. LaunchControl supports macOS Big Sur (11) through Golden Gate (27) on both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs.
