About
Levers is a Mac app that hides the clutter on your screen when you share or record it. When a call, a recorder, or any other app starts capturing your screen, Recording Mode hides your desktop, Dock, other apps, and menu bar clutter. When you stop, everything returns exactly as it was, even after a crash. It works with the apps you already use, with no setup and no plugins, including Meet and Teams in a browser, OBS, and Loom.
Recording Mode is customizable. You choose which of its eight things change in Settings, and Levers records each change before making it and undoes them in reverse when you stop. Optional extras include a 3-2-1 countdown, a time limit, a recording resolution such as 1920 × 1080, and a red dot with a timer in the menu bar. Other tools include Backdrop, which fills the screen behind the app you're showing; three menu bar shelves; Keep Awake, which stops the Mac from sleeping for a set time; Lock Keyboard; Pointer Spotlight; and sixteen one-click switches in one dropdown.
Levers costs $5 as a one-time purchase, requires macOS 15 or later, and comes with a 14-day refund. To get started, download the app, drag it to Applications, and open it once. It then stays in your menu bar.
